The Data used for this analysis is sourced from the 2023 Presidential Election Result in Nigeria declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC], The model was adjusted to Religion and Ethnic by categorizing the Geo-Political Zone into the Interrelated Ethnic Group, and the population of Christian or Muslim resident in each state is used to categorize each state as either Christian Dominated or Muslim Dominated. However, Lagos and FCT were recognized for their unique dynamic, and are classified as Mixed Religion settlements.
Using Microsoft PowerBI to create the visualization, the Research revealed a fascinating insight into the 3 leading presidential candidates of the topmost political party. Complex data was transformed to create a visually appealing dashboard (see Figure 1) illustrating how leading contenders were ranked in securing ethnoreligious votes in the just concluded 2023 Presidential Election in Nigeria. Our model applied a methodology to show what the presidential race looked like.
